Transparency
What we cover today
Every report is only as good as its sources, so we publish coverage honestly instead of implying everything is covered everywhere. Centres, demographics, fees, and demand data are national. Development application (DA) coverage is built council by council, and reports always tell you when an area is not yet covered rather than showing an empty result as if it were a fact.
Coverage states you may see in a report: covered (live), checked, no childcare DAs found, needs enrichment (records found, place counts still being extracted), needs scraper, and blocked (the official source restricts automated access).
National datasets in every report
Childcare centres
Every approved service on the ACECQA national register, with places, service types, and quality ratings. National.
Demographics
ABS Census and Estimated Resident Population by SA2, including 0-4 population, female labour-force participation, and workplace populations. National.
Demand
Child Care Subsidy enrolment data by SA3, updated quarterly, weighted into each drive-time catchment. National.
Fees
Published daily fees aggregated per catchment where providers publish them; each report shows how many centres priced. National where published.

Statewide discovery is live through the official NSW Planning Portal APIs (OnlineDA and OnlineCDC), covering every addressable NSW council area at report time. Childcare place counts come from verified council documents or the ACECQA register, and rows without a published count show an audited blocker state instead of a guess. The council scrapers listed below add direct register evidence on top.

Council DA registers are refreshed daily; each report shows the refresh state of its sources and flags delays instead of silently presenting stale data. States and territories not listed above (WA, SA, TAS, NT) do not yet have DA coverage — reports there still include all national datasets and say clearly that the development pipeline is not yet covered.
